Carlisle, PA,  – With consummate skill, psychotherapist Alma Bond takes readers on a whirlwind
tour of the life and loves of Marilyn Monroe and mid-century Hollywood. Marilyn Monroe: On the Couch (Bancroft
Press) is a fictionalized biography from a unique and revealing perspective:
the couch of a renowned New York psychoanalyst, Dr. Darcy Dale. It is a
spellbinding, powerful story.

In the book, Marilyn reveals
her life story to the doctor, who helps her connect the facts of Marilyn’s
early life to the emotional illness which propelled her to a tragic and early
death. The book also illuminates the gradually deepening relationship between
doctor and patient, and how it led to Marilyn’s growth as a woman and great
actress.

Humorous, touching, and
insightful,
Marilyn Monroe: On the Couch reveals
the enigmatic Marilyn Monroe no author has understood before. The book also
makes clear why no other ending to her life was possible. No one who has not
read
Marilyn Monroe: On the Couch will ever know the true story of
Marilyn Monroe, which could only have been written by Alma Bond, experienced
psychoanalyst.

Alma H. Bond received her
Ph.D. from Columbia University, and became a highly successful psychoanalyst in
private practice for 37 years in New York City. She “retired” to
become a full-time writer, but now maintains a small practice in addition to
writing.
Jackie O: On the Couch, the first of her On the Couch series to be published by Bancroft Press, was
published in 2011, receiving a Pinnacle Book Achievement Award.
Margaret
Mahler, a Biography of the Psychoanalyst
was published by McFarland Press
in 2008.
Michelle Obama, a Biography, was just published by Greenwood
Press. A prolific writer, Dr. Bond has published 18 other books and a play
about the life and loves of Maria Callas, which was produced off-off Broadway
and is currently touring Florida.

Dr. Bond is a member of
the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the Dramatists Guild, PEN, the
International Psychoanalytic Association, and the American Psychological
Association. She taught psychoanalysis at the Institute for Psychoanalytic
Training and Research, where she is currently a fellow. Dr. Bond is the widow
of the renowned actor, Rudy Bond, and the mother of three children, Zane P.
Bond, Jonathan H. Bond, and Janet Bond Brill, all of whom are published
authors, and also the grandmother of eight, none of whom have published books
yet.
